ETI Concludes Another Successful Winter Tech Week

Once again, I'm going outside the box with my article because I think the message is relevant, especially this time of year.  And sometimes we need a reminder of what is important and inspiration to regroup for the coming year.  By then end of the year we are all exhausted by the demands throughout the year.  Business trips, conferences, meetings, endless emails, the non-stop ringing of the phone, and being pulled in too many different directions.  And that's only eight hours of each day (ok, more like 10-12 for some of us).  Add to that the demands in your personal life, and you've got your hands full and are probably overwhelmed by it all some days. 

This article originally appeared in an Ann Landers column in 1982 and it still rings true today.  In fact, the article cut from the newspaper has been hanging on my refrigerator for as long as I can remember.  Enjoy...

In reviewing a recent PTEN reader survey, I came across the finding that slightly more than half of our readers use a tablet or a smart phone and a similar number are using social media. Given the fact that most of our readers are more than 50 years of age, I was encouraged to see that most are using new communications technology. Obama visits Detroit-area engine plant as company announces $120M upgrade and 115 new jobs
The Washington Post

The Detroit Diesel Corp. used a visit from President Barack Obama to announce that it will add 115 jobs and invest millions at a huge factory near the city.  The president visited the plant to build support for his plan to avoid the “fiscal cliff,” the combination of tax hikes and spending cuts that are to take effect in January unless a budget deal is reached. Obama toured the 3-million-square-foot plant and spoke to workers.
